Well, I've neglected this blog. I'm sorry! It's been a lazy summer...and I was also waiting for my co-blogger to intro, and he never did. Oh, well! Now you get to hear about my hair.

If you notice in the picture in my introduction, I have voluminous curly hair that tends to frizz. I did not take very good care of my hair this weekend, unfortunately, and it shows. My family and I went on vacation for my dad's birthday, but since we were only there for a weekend, I couldn't take any of my hair products with me.

Now, I use a technique generally called No-Poo (though I modified it for myself.) Curly hair has a bigger tendency to dry out than straight hair does, and certain chemicals used in most shampoos and conditioners exacerbates this. So what I do is I don't use shampoo at all (unless you regularly roll around in dirt, you don't really need it; conditioner also has cleansing properties) and I use conditioners without sodium laurel sulfate/sodium laureth sulfate. (This is what causes the sudsiness in shampoos; it also leaches natural oils from your hair.) I also didn't bring my after-wash hair products, which are Carol's Daughter Hair Milk and Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Conditioning Spray.

One weekend of unfamiliar conditioner with no products and too much chlorinated water means my hair is currently not a happy camper. Just goes to show you: hair is a picky thing.

Unrelated to everything else in this post: I went to Webster Hall last night to watch Miniature Tigers and Neon Indian. Despite some technical difficulties, they were fabulous. I advise everyone to check them out!
